My Official Breakdown
Donell Jones and Joe went hit-for-hit in this installment of VERZUZ. The event was officially streamed live the night of August 20th courtesy of Complex and Apple Music at Apple Music Studios. Donell Jones lead off the rounds with Joe doing the responses. Not only did it include songs they performed, but also songs they wrote for others, like for instance their tributes to Big Pun. Surprise guests included 702 and 50 Cent to electrify the crowd even more. Although many including myself were keeping score just because of the nature of "VERZUZ", in the end you realized you were just celebrating another great night for R&B. If I had to pick a favorite song I loved from each I would say Donell Jones with "Where I Wanna Be" and Joe with "The Love Scene".
